About

The girl behind the lens

Hi — I'm Zoë.

Hi — I'm Zoë.

I photograph people: the laughing kind, the quiet kind, the been-married-forty-years kind. My style sits between editorial and candid — directed enough to flatter, loose enough to stay true.

As a master's student in industrial psychology, I've always been fascinated by people — a passion for finding the gold in those around me. Photography became a way to capture that gold from my own perspective.

Sessions with me feel more like a catch-up than a shoot. I'll bring a speaker and ask for your playlist — your songs, your volume, your mood. We'll meet wherever the light is good. We'll talk about your week, your studies, your people. Then, somewhere between a song you know all the words to and a laugh you didn't see coming, you'll forget the camera — and that's almost always when your favourite photograph happens.

When I'm not behind a lens, you'll find me at home in Potchefstroom with my husband — a software engineer, and the other half of this website. We built it together: my eye, his code. If you've been thinking about a site of your own, get in touch, and we'll have a chat.

Honest, not staged

Real expressions over stiff poses. I direct gently, then wait for the true moment.

02

Editorial eye

Light, styling and composition treated with magazine-level care — even on a farm path in Potch.

03

People first

Nervous in front of cameras? Most of my clients are. By golden hour, nobody is.
